Q: When will the IPF Masters World Powerlifting Championships be held?

A: The 2008 IPF Masters World Powerlifting Championships will be held September 30 - October 4, 2008 at the Palm Springs Convention Center in Palm Springs, California.


Q: Who can compete in the IPF Masters World Powerlifting Championships?

A: Athletes must be nominated by the national powerlifting federation affiliated with the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF), the governing body of powerlifting internationally. The IPF is comprised of member federations from over 100 countries on six continents. In the U.S., USA Powerlifting is the affiliated member federation. Athletes qualify to be selected to the US team by competing in national championships sanctioned by USA Powerlifting.


Q: What is the price to attend the IPF Masters World Powerlifting Championships?

A: All lifting sessions each day are FREE and open to the public.
 

Q: Will there be parking available on-site?

A: Yes, ample event parking is available in the parking lot across the street from the convention center on Amado Road between Alvarado Road and N. Avenida Cabelleros.


Q: Is there food available for purchase at the venue?

A: Yes. Concessions stands will be open in the Palm Springs Convention Center during lifting sessions throughout the week.


Q: Where can I stay while in Palm Springs?

A: The official host hotel is the Hilton Palm Springs. 400 East Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, CA 92262; 760-320-6868, 800-522-6900; www.hiltonpalmsprings.com. When making reservations, refer to group code “IPF” for special championship rate and access to reserved room block.
 

Q: Will there be a place on-site to exchange currency?

A: Anderson Travel will exchange British, Canadian, and Swiss currencies and the euro, accepted in 12 countries.  Also available are foreign currency travelers checks. Anderson Travel is located within walking distance of the Hilton Palm Springs and the convention center at 700 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs.  760-325-2001
